Support services
Reykjavík City's policy on special education and support focuses on inclusive schooling. This means the school provides services to all students, disabled and non-disabled alike. Teachers must adapt their teaching to the student group, using various methods and activities for the students.
School counseling
The school has two counselors who provide students with personal and social support in their studies.
Education for all
City-run primary schools in Reykjavík meet each child's educational needs regardless of their abilities or status.
Healthcare
School healthcare provides organized health education and promotes healthy lifestyles.
Support services at Hagaskóli
Hagaskóli has strong support and specialist services for students. The school works with West Center, which has a psychologist, social worker and teaching consultant who serve the school as needed. The school's support services include a department head, guidance counselor, occupational therapist, student advisor, recreation and social studies specialist, and special education teachers.
Support services seek all ways to meet the needs of students who require assistance, in close cooperation with parents.

Child prosperity
The Act on the Integration of Services in the Interest of Children’s Prosperity has come into effect. The goal is to ensure children and guardians receive the right assistance, at the right time, from the right parties.
Families and children in need of early support have guaranteed access to a prosperity contact in the child's immediate environment, such as in preschool or primary school. The prosperity contact offers information and guidance on services and ensures that children and guardians have unhindered access to these services.
Children, youth, and guardians can reach the school prosperity contact to request integrated services.
