Fundraising money from Good Cause delivered

The Women's Shelter and AFGA received today the money that was raised for Good Cause last week, totaling 3,600,000 króna.
A tradition has formed in recent years for students to choose one domestic cause and one international cause to support. This year students chose to support The Women's Shelter and facilities for adolescents in their new building. They also chose the organization AFGA, which among other things operates a youth center in Afghanistan that provides comprehensive assistance to adolescents.
The total amount raised is 3,600,000 króna, which will be split equally between these organizations.

In a brief address, Ómar Örn, the principal, mentioned that while the fundraising amount was important for these organizations, the project's purpose is also for students to experience firsthand how important it is to do good in the community and to realize that good deeds can change others' lives for the better.

This was a joyful moment for students this morning, and we hope the money that has now been delivered will benefit youth.
