School orientation at Hagaskóli

School orientation will take place on Friday, Aug. 22. At Hagaskóli, the school orientation day is a full school day, so students go to their homeroom teacher after orientation and stay in school until 1pm. Lunch will be served at noon.

Students attend orientation in the auditorium as follows:

• 8th grade at 9am
• 9th grade at 9:30am
• 10th grade at 10am
   

Unfortunately, due to space constraints, we haven't been able to invite parents to the school orientation, but there are always some parents of eighth-graders who accompany their children, and that's perfectly fine, though you might need to stand in the auditorium. Students receive their schedules on orientation day.

Students in grades 9 and 10 who were students at Hagaskóli last school year are automatically registered for free school meals. However, parents need to register their children who are entering grade 8 or are new students at Hagaskóli. Parents do this through Vala school meals (https://vala.is/). I'd like to ask parents to do this as soon as possible since we'll be using catered food while we search for a cook, and it's important that we receive all information about allergies, intolerances or vegetarian choices.
