Three Hagaskóli students win awards in Fernuflug
MS Iceland Dairies has promoted the native language for over 30 years, and the Fernuflug writing competition has been one of their most prominent projects in recent years.
At the start of fall, MS Iceland Dairies invited students in grades 8-10 to submit texts for publication on MS milk cartons in early 2026. Over 1,200 texts were submitted to the competition from students across the country, and 48 were chosen for publication on milk cartons. Awards went to three Hagaskóli students for their texts: Aron Elí Arnarsson, Eldey Häsler Þráinsdóttir and Andrés Illugi Gunnarsson Cortes. The competition awarded cash prizes for the top three places, with Aron Elí earning first place.
- 1st prize - Aron Elí Arnarsson, 10th grade student at Hagaskóli in Reykjavík.
- 2nd prize - Gabríel Leví Hermanns. Oberman, 10th grade student at Grunnskóli Vestmannaeyja, Barnaskóli.
- 3rd prize - Alexandra Tinna Nilsen Ómarsdóttir, 8th grade student at Lækjarskóli, Hafnarfjörður.
- Special recognition prize - Anton Þór Ragnarsson, 10th grade student at NÚ.
- Special recognition prize - Diljá Fannberg Þórsdóttir, 10th grade student at Grunnskóli Snæfellsbæjar, Lýsudeild.
We congratulate our students on their achievements and look forward to reading their texts in the new year.
