School orientation and start of term at Hagaskóli

School orientation is Monday, Aug. 24. At Hagaskóli, the school orientation day is a full school day, so students go to their homeroom teacher after orientation and stay in school until 1pm. Lunch will be served at noon. 

Students attend orientation in the auditorium as follows:

  • 8th grade at 9 a.m.
  • 9th grade at 9:30 a.m.
  • 10th grade at 10 a.m.
     

Unfortunately, due to space constraints, we haven't been able to invite parents to the school orientation, but there are always some parents of eighth-graders who accompany their children, and that's perfectly fine, though you might need to stand in the auditorium. Students receive their schedules on orientation day.

Students are welcome to bring their backpacks on school orientation day, as all school supplies and books are provided by the school. This winter, we especially encourage students to bring a water bottle so they have easy access to water and we can keep our glasses in the hall.
